Raymond R. Picard (1925-2009)
Raymond R. Picard (1925-2009) was a Canadian visual artist from Quebec. Internationally renowned Quebecois of Sorel-Tracy. Born in Montreal he attended the Ecole Des Beaux Arts. He received instruction in oils and pastels from Stanley Tresider and later at San Miguel Allende Satillo and Vera Cruz, Mexico. He made his first exhibition in 1948. In 1960 he founded LeCentre d'Arte deTracy. In 1966 he restored an 1830 farmhouse into a home, studio and gallery named Atelier-Galerie, Arts & Artisans. During his life he travelled extensively and held many successful solo shows throughout North America.
