My Mom would bake every week. She'd bake for the neighbors' children. She'd make Rice Krispies squares for the Grandchildren. She'd make up little care packages of goodies and spread the love when you'd least expect it. At Christmas, when we could pick a dessert off a platter at the store - she would make her infamous almond brittle and the customers just loved it and always asked for repeats.
So it just seems fitting to have a little baking feature today. It's hot outside and cool inside so why not bake? A little theme developed over the past few days and I think my Mom had something to do with that!
These are handy items - and no matter what you're baking or cooking - it's always good to have a few staples in your kitchen. We get lots of great housewares and they do very well because they are affordable and useful. We all need a little useful.
