Just so you are clear on how the recent State of Emergency declaration will affect things here at The Singing Lady.

As a small business owner I have been feeling powerless for many reasons. Over the past months, I have written to Members of Parliament, my Landlord and spoken to anyone I possibly could about the stress that we are under to keep The Singing Lady and all these small businesses afloat.

My intent is not to get political with my feelings because I entirely understand the gravity of the situation we're all under. Keeping all of you and our staff safe is of utmost importance.

With these new restrictions, we are still very fortunate that we can continue to sell the items in our store by referencing our website but there are also drawbacks for those of you wishing to purchase much larger items.

I am thankful to my husband Stef, for putting in place our website many years ago when we began. It continues to be part of his legacy as we continue to move forward, regardless of the hurdles.

As of today this is what we are able to do - and please know that, as of today, we cannot have two staff members in one store at the same time.

• You are more than welcome to continue making purchases over the phone.
• If it is a larger item - and we are able to pick it up ourselves using our two hands - then we can get it to the door once purchased or if you would like to see it before buying it.
• If it's larger and requires lifting by more than one staff member, it cannot be viewed curbside and once purchased MUST be picked up by a professional mover or it can remain in the store until things change.
• No changes with purchasing or viewing smaller items curbside - we just ask for patience on the pick up. Same day pick up may not be ideal depending on the challenge of each day.
• Although we still can offer curbside pickup - we strongly encourage you to leave the item/s with us until we see some improvement in the rise of cases. Ultimately, the decision is yours but we want everyone to stay safe.

We will continue to have limited new arrivals. We will continue to update our website daily.

The Premier of Ontario, Honourable Doug Ford, said many times in his press conference yesterday - support small business, get online and support small business.
