c2012 Original Oil on Canvas - "Poppy Garden" By Canadian Painter Cynthia Blair - Textural, Bold & Vibrant Floral with Painted Sides - Wire to Hang - 24" Square

Cynthia Blair’s work is strongly influenced by the rich and
colourful landscapes of the Killarney, Algonquin and
Georgian Bay areas . Light reflecting on water is a common thread in many of her landscape paintings. It isn’t unusual to see Cynthia in her kayak or out on the trails searching for inspiration. Many of her paintings are done Plein Air, no matter the weather or season.

Bold, vibrant florals are also one of her familiar subjects, often creating a close-up view of the flower. Cynthia paints primarily in oil or acrylic on canvas. She also welcomes special projects and commissions.

Cynthia Blair is a graduate of the textile design program at Georgian College. Initially, she began her career painting on silk with french dyes, creating one-of-a-kind designs. She has continued to develop her skills by taking courses and workshops and enjoys experimenting with different techniques and concepts.

During the last few years, she has applied her energy to painting with encaustic, oil and acrylic on canvas, as well as encaustic primarily florals and landscapes that capture the light within and around the subject.

Cynthia has exhibited at the Toronto Queen West Art Crawl, the Toronto Indoor Art Expo, and shows her work in numerous local shows and galleries. She accepts and welcomes commissions.
